The Development of Antitrust Enforcement in Italy and the Benefits of an Effective Antitrust Compliance

On January 10 and 11, 2018, the Italian Competition Authority (the “ICA”) signed two distinct Memoranda of Understanding with the Public Prosecutor of Milan and Rome.

This was the last of a number of initiatives recently adopted in Italy with a view to boosting cartel detection and providing enforcers with new tools of deterrence to foster effective competition.

In the following paragraphs, after a brief description of such recent developments, we will highlight the growing advantages of antitrust compliance programs.
